Sarah Lenore is a
multi-talented 15-year old singer and entertainer. Performing since the age of
five, she appeared in eighty performances of the Broadway musical Showboat at
age eight alongside the show's star Tom Bosley. Since then, she has appeared in
more than twenty-five musical plays, including Mame, her most recent. In 2003,
Sarah traveled to New York City where she performed at Carnegie Hall.
In September 2002, she was a featured performer at Impact at Ford Field, the
City of Detroit's largest fundraiser to raise money for a single charity
Children's Hospital of Michigan. Sarah was selected from a group of more than
300 metro Detroit singers to perform along-side Gladys Knight, Deborah Gibson,
and Dale Kristine. In addition, she bested 400 other singers to perform at the
2003 Detroit Fireworks Celebration that was televised live on Detroit's NBC
affiliate, WDIV.
Sarah has performed the National Anthem at several high profile events,
including the pre-season home opener for the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, the
NASCAR Fan Appreciation Day at Comerica Park, and at an invitation only
reception for Vice President Dick Chaney at Laurel Manor. Sarah has also been
featured on The Mitch Albom Show on WJR Radio and the WXYZ Morning show on
Detroit's ABC affiliate. Comcast Cablevision is currently producing a program
featuring interviews and performances by Sarah that will be aired on the local
cable channel.
Over the course of the last three years, Sarah has performed at numerous
festivals, including the Jackson County Festival in Ohio, an outdoor festival in
Fort Wayne, Indiana and the Plymouth Fall Festival. Sarah won the state of
Michigan's Colgate Country Showdown in August of 2003.
In addition to these accomplishments, Sarah, a sophomore in high school, is a
straight-A student. She continues to pursue her passion for performing and is
currently writing songs and recording her first CD. As Sarah continues her
growth as an artist she observes, "I grew up listening to Martina, she is one of
my sources of inspiration. When I hear one of her songs, it draws me in until
she sings her last note. I hope one day someone might think of me that way."
With her youthful exuberance and her love of performing, Sarah is well on her
way to accomplish that goal.
